Useful math. Visible assumptions.
BuiltTally is a construction planning utility. Start with measurements, follow the formula, and see how material assumptions change the order.
What is available
The Gravel Calculator estimates rectangular volume, an optional extra allowance, material weight, supplier rounding, and material cost. The Cubic Yard Calculator estimates volume for a rectangle, known area, circle or triangle, with optional extra allowance and cost. The Rock Calculator estimates generic rock volume and, with your entered density, weight, optional supplier rounding and cost. The Dirt Calculator adds generic volume and optional truckload planning. The Topsoil Calculator plans lawn, garden and planting quantities with optional bags, bulk supplier rounding and cost. The Sand Calculator adds generic sand volume with optional entered density, mass-based bags and separate purchasing costs. The Concrete Block Calculator estimates wall-face takeoff with openings, user-entered module sizing, optional pallets, manufacturer mortar coverage and material costs. The Pea Gravel Calculator provides material-specific quantity, volume or weight bags, and reverse coverage at entered depth. The River Rock Calculator adds independent quantity/coverage workflows and an optional user-entered size-based planning depth. Fill Dirt handles target in-place volume, optional user-entered loose order, truckloads and separate cost estimates. Aggregate combines multiple sections of one material with one allowance, optional entered density, selected supplier rounding and separate quotes. Road Base plans single-footprint base-course quantity with optional user-planned lifts. Linear Feet adds measured runs, area-to-length conversion and optional length-based stock planning with separate quotes. Roof Pitch converts rise/run, X:12, angle and percent with optional geometric roof-plane length. Stair plans one straight flight from your rise, riser count or maximum, and horizontal run. All fifteen launch calculators are available.
What still needs confirmation
Material properties, project depths and purchasing terms require your own information. Automated arithmetic tests do not constitute engineering review. Confirm material properties and site requirements with your supplier or project professional.
